Listen to the Talking Clouds – Psalm 19

I love clouds. They’ve always fascinated me, how they don’t stop changing their shape as they march, roll, and stretch across the sky. When I learned from scripture that Jesus Christ will return to earth in the clouds, I studied the skies even more closely.

The heavens are declaring and the skies are proclaiming, and they’re pouring out speech and knowledge. That’s what I see in the first verses of Psalm 19. But we read in verses 3-4, “They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth…” (Psalm 19:3-4 NIV). The skies are declaring, proclaiming and pouring out speech, but they’re silent. I think a special kind of listening must be required.

I’m watching, I’m listening, Lord.
