The Chapter I Memorized – Psalm 16

This psalm was one I chose to memorize many years ago, mainly because of declarations like this which I hold dear.

“In your presence is fullness of joy” (Psalm 16:11 NKJV). Not just momentary happiness, not the answer to all my dreams and wishes, but fullness of joy. It’s there in his presence.

Look at the overview of linked thoughts from verses 7-11. “I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel. My heart also instructs me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right I shall not be moved”  (Psalm 16:11 NKJV). Therefore
my heart is glad,
I find physical rest
and the promise I won’t be abandoned in death,
and he will show me the path of life where there is fullness of joy and pleasures forever.

I love this chapter. I”ll be determined to continually bless him and set him before me in all I think, say, and do. It’s unimaginable what this gives me in return.
