Thumbtack – an experiment in doing business

I’m trying a new way to serve writers with my proofreading and copy editing. It’s called Thumbtack, a venue for uniting service professionals with potential clients.

UPDATE: My Proofreading and Copyediting business is no longer serving clients.

I started a profile on Thumbtack.com, and within an hour I had a request for a proofreader in my email. I looked the information over and submitted a bid, which cost me less than $4. I consider it an educational investment, because I’m still not sure how Thumbtack’s point system works.

This should be a great way to meet new people and help them polish their writing.
