Some Things are Absolute – Proverbs 30

I love concrete, inarguable statements. Today’s proverbs are exactly that.

“Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.” Proverbs 30:5-6 NIV

Inarguably,
1. Every word of God is flawless. He doesn’t make mistakes or promise what he won’t deliver.
2, He is a shield to those who take refuge in him. What better safety is there?
3. If I add to his words he will rebuke me and prove me a liar. I’m glad I can’t change or add to God’s words. I need what he says to be solid, unchanging. I need him to be God.

One more day in the month of January, and one more chapter in Proverbs to glean from. Tomorrow is Proverbs 31 day!

  1. Proverbs 30:5

    “Every word of God is flawless;
    He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.”

    Thank you Father, that You are trustworthy. Thank You that in these days of political unrest and dire warnings of horrible things coming, that YOU are my refuge and shield. I can trust You to care for me no matter what happens. And I can be assured that nothing will happen that You do not allow.

    Thank You for the peace You give!
